so its my first class with my new professor, since we were new to him he told us to give an introduction. we were so fed up giving intro to everybody, most of them said no in chorus and i just stared at them, wondering something else. but this experienced person said he will add some twists and make it interesting and he was kinda stern about it. so everybody had to agree to it. and then he distributed small paper chits to everybody and instructed to write one dearest topic to them. it was hard for me to choose, like what should i choose?? coz i had so many topics..hmm should i choose books? gardening? pets? my fave pop-star?? movie?? or my fave show?? it was a real struggle to choose among them and then i finally settled with hobby, if he asked me to speak about my hobby i could tell him a great deal about it. After this he told us to fold the chits and then he mixed them up and randomly called people to talk on about themselves and then to pick one chit from the pile and talk about it. so i sat there waiting for my turn. and listening to all of others stories and wondering who could have written those topics.... one of my friend Lakshmi gave a nice little talk about her place and about her friend how she spent her college days. it was really nice one. after some girls it was my turn. i thought i was gonna talk fine but after going their i just told my name and my hobby and got stuck somewhere, i cut the talk abruptly and took the chit from the table and i was hoping to get a chit relating to hobby but i got a chit that read COLORS. I know i could have talked a lot about it. but i just stood there perplexed i felt i was out of words. standing on the stage i stared at my classmates my throat went dry and my mind was blank..and i looked at the professor he stared at me i dint know what to do....i just said thank you and came to my seat. i was a little embarrassed. after every body the professor said he was not happy with the intro and specifically mentioned that the person who got topic colours could have spoken a lot and i just sat there wondering what all i could have told.... and i will write about in my next article..
Hi there! I am soumya, I like books and scribbling random stuff..sometimes I stay up late and read or do embroidery! And some other time I do total opposite things like riding my dad's motor bike at 80 km/hr. Most of the times you can see me sipping coffee or working in my garden. My big dog always keeps me company. I also enjoy long walks with him. Here's a little journal of my scribbling. I would be very happy if you leave a comment after readingπ Happy reading :)

tricked
From a couple of days, I've been trying to write things. But my mind is plying tricks on me π¬. When I have nothing to note down, sitting silently or when I am stressing to solve some math problem, I suddenly become a poet. Words start flooding and string themselves into beautiful sentences all in my mind. But when I sit with a book and pen in a beautiful place..NO.. uhh ha...I seriously don't get any idea to write..is'nt our mind a actual master mind??π tricking us into things?? creating all sorts of illusions??
I specifically remember one night,
I was sleeping alone in my room it was around 2 A.M. My roommate had gone to her native. Usually I'm a very bold person. Never scared of dark or ghost stories. But that night.....my mind played real game on me..
I guess it was because I watched The conjuring movie with my brother with full sound effects. That night I literally cried out fear.. and almost believed that Bathsheba was beside me whispering all sorts of weird chants in my ears.. I was also scared to sleep in my normal position scared someone would grab me by my feet. My throat was dry I felt paralysed could not even stifle.. shivering I somehow managed a muffled scream.. and then suddenly I woke up..sat up on my bed.. it was such a panicky situation.. and then almost instantly I called my friend who lives next door. Poor girl picked my call after 3 times of continuous ringing. Then she agreed to come and stay with me for the rest of the night.. you don't know how relieved I felt..She came in comforted me in the best possible way. and accompanied me till dawn without ever complaining for the trouble I created.
next morning i was happy that it was a bright sunny day. but somewhere the last night's incident kept bugging me. when i told my dad about this i got a little bit of console filled "telling" about his constant warning to stop watching horror movies. when my brother got to know, he laughed till his stomach hurt. But I never found courage to tell my mom about this.
After that night I never ventured to watch a horror movie again. I was planning to read 'The shinning' and I dropped that plan. and gave up all my love for the movies like Nightmare on ELM streets, the whispers series and many more.
Sometimes I clearly don't understand what I'm in. few times I feel like I'm in hot crawling mess. and sometimes I feel like pre Buddha- Siddhartha who has got almost everything in life. Sometimes all I need is a cup of coffee to get me going. or a hearty laugh filled walk with mom. Man OH Man we are all victims of this brain game ππ

Why I love taylor swift
On my 16th b'day my dad gifted me a phone, that day I sat in my attic trying to download new songs, when the Internet started to buffer i turned the pages of newspaper there for the first time ever in my life i got to know about Taylor swift.there was a picture of her and an article about her newly released album, Red. after reading it i downloaded her songs. the very first song i heard from her was "We are never ever getting back together". I fell in love with that song and i kept on listing to it on repeat. After that i started stalking her on Internet and that's how i came to know her.
As the days passed, i downloaded more songs and i think tim mcgraw is my fav song next to mean. And i also started watching her tour videos and i realised not only her music but I love her personality, attitude, simplicity and so much more. When you start liking a celebrity you normally compare them to others, that's what i did too. remember how she dressed? sun dress and cowboy boots with cock screw curly hair? i liked the fact that she dint rip off her dresses like other people in the music industry do. she has her own style. she is original. and more of a trend setter. remember when getting a tattoo was a trend? almost everybody in the music industry had one either on their shoulders or on backs, but Taylor never got one. maybe she did not like it. but the point is that she is not the person who follows the trend. well to convince i got another point. well somewhere in the mid 2015's neon colour was a huge trend but did you ever see her wearing one? no right?!
As the Red era started she bought high waist stuff into the fashion trend. Her trade mark red lip was also a huge trend in the industry
And when the 1989 era began she bought the crop-top and high waist skirt and shorts in the trend.
This is why i call her a trend setter.More than her fashion and style, I should tell you about her lyrics.Song writing is a art that not everyone can get it, when it comes to Taylor, I say she is gifted. which teenager would write a song like our song? just at 16 she managed to write perfect songs with perfect rhythms. and even got nominated for Best new artist nomination for Grammy. Some of my favourite lyrics are
from Tim mcgraw;
Its hard not to find it all a little bitter sweet..and looking back on all of that its nice to believe...
from our song:
you talk real slow.. coz its late and your mama don't know....
all too well:
The Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place,
And I can picture it after all these days.
Mean:
And I can see you years from now in a bar
Talking over a football game
With that same big loud opinion
But nobody's listening
Washed up and ranting about the same old bitter things
Drunk and grumbling on about how I can't sing
But all you are is mean
well i've got a big list to say but these are some of my favourites. above all this i also like how close she is with her family. attending her brother's graduation, talking to her mom on phone three times a day, her vacation with family.I also admire her high profile squad. In brief we love her because, she managed her fame and wealth in perfect way right from the start. amidst all the attention and publicity she got, she never lost her control, she was always composed. she is not a gimmick but truly original. with a business mind and a generous heart. she is such a superstar. Love you Taylorππ

girl with a golden heart
My very first article on this blog was of my new college and my first day at college. I had actually thought of writing about my amazing room mate, but ended up posting something else. But today out of my total admiration I am writing this. I consider myself very very lucky not only for meeting her but to be her friend too..ππ§π§
After biding byes to my parents i came to my room, Before meeting my roomie i was kind of worried how she would be because i had heard lot of tales from my cousins who were staying at hostels. but Its wonderful how we got along so well. We just sat their on our beds and talked and talked and the next moment I knew was I had met another best friend. My roommate is from Bombay, and i have read and heard of that place a lot. on our first day together all I did was to ask about her place. She was patient enough to answer all my questions. Its wonderful how we have so much in common. We sleep and wake at same time, we score same marks, we commit same mistakes, we have same taste in music and so much more. Like me she is also a nature lover. She is a kind of girl who would help a little kitty cross the road. More like half glass full attitude. She did influence me in a better way. I got to tell one incident, One day I was coming back from shopping with my other friend and to our dismay we saw that in our hostel's third floor balcony a cuckoo had got caught up, poor bird sat there not knowing how to fly out. and we did all kind of circus to help it fly away, poor bird it only got scared and tired and thirsty from trying to get away. We felt helpless, I somehow wanted to rescue it,but I was clueless what to do. I and my friend decided to dump our shopping bags in our room and then go in search the watchman. after a quick run over the stairs I came back panting to see if the bird was there, but to my relief it had flown away. I felt so relived but wondered how it managed to get away. Just as I turned back there came my roomie smiling from end to end, and she told me how she used her quick wit to rescue that big bird. It just made me so happy and gave other reason to feel good on having a friend like her πππ. It might not seem like a big deal rescuing a bird. but a only a true nature lover can understand the chords of a speach-lees creature. We live in a world where humanity is a rare act. And people like her a bit rare. Dear roomie, you are simply a woman with a heart of gold. never loose it πππ

Lucky day
Couple of days ago I sat there in my class, it was a regular day, regular classes, not much, nothing special. our third class was Business Communication period. Our teacher had planned us something surprising that day. She came to class and for a change from the the routine she gave us some incomplete sentences and told us to fill the blanks to create a story. She suggested to use their respective partners details. I was sitting with Priya that day as my other friend Shruti, with whom I share my bench all the time was absent. As my teacher displayed the sentences, initially i could not think of anything. I took some time and asked my friend all that I needed to frame a story. At the end I was surprised how simple and beautiful it turned out to be.
Here's that little story;
On a early summer morning, I was boarding a bus to Hubli. During my 2 hour journey a girl came and sat next to me. As there was still a long way to go and also I was alone, I decided to have a little chat with her. So I asked what was her name, she said it was Priya. She asked my name I told I was Soumya. As we further got acquainted I asked what was very strange about her, to which she told me she often fights with her mom. and I asked her what she had been doing in recent years she told that she had taken coaching for IBPS exam but couldn't get through because of bad teaching. I also got to know that she is a big fan of cricket and she had recently watched M.S.Dhoni movie. She also told me that she had been to Bangalore and Amboli. As the time ticked by my stop approached. I got up from my seat and said nice meeting you Priya and then got down from the bus. As the mid-day sun shone brightly I felt happy on having been made a friend.
I submitted my story to my teacher she read everybody's story and shortlisted some And checked again and guess what?!! she read my story aloud to the class and said it was a surprise contest and she declared us the winner and gave us chocolates as our prizeπ«π« there were no words to say how happy I felt. Being appreciated for my writing skills is what brings me pure happiness. To me it was really a lucky day.ππ

the beginning
Just three months ago, I was so excited, happy ,anxious and felt lot many emotions at the same time. To me it was a start of something very new. you might be wondering what i am saying. well here's the little story.
As my PGCET exams ended giving me a admission in a good college, not very far from my home town. it was a Sunday evening when i came to college with my parents along with some luggage in the boot of my car. it was rather saddening and a very silent trip from my home to college. what bitterly tore me up was to imagine that i would not come back and stay at my home like i did in my childhood, you know day after day sometimes in the garden and sometime in the attic. because after college i would probably go to a far off town to work and then come to home only for holidays. and parting from my dear pet dog also did not feel good.
it is just a 2hr journey from my home town to college. as we entered the gates the first thing we did was to try meet my new warden geeta. As it was tea time she was not at the hostel office, the watchmen at the gate suggested us have tea in our mess and by the time we would come he assured us she would also have come come back. so we went to our mess and i was dumbstruck how clean and neat they had maintained it. I still remember those shining black marbles and a very tasty Pav bhaji and tea. while coming back dad asked if i had got my mosquito net and guess what? i hadn't brought it. so my dad dropped us at our hostel premises and went out to get me a new curtain. my warden had already returned from the mess and my mom asked everything that made her sure that i would be fine here. and when the warden asked me to give my fee receipt for my hostel admission that moment i realised that it was with my dad :p you should have seen the look on my mother's face. so we had to wait for a while for my dad to return. Finally i produced my fee receipt again guess what?? my room was on the forth floor the last floor on my hostel. and it was rather a tedious walk to carry my luggage from the car to the room. as dad was not allowed inside my dear mother helped me a lot to carry everything and she even helped me to arrange everything in my room. it was already half past eight in the night. so i suggested my parents to have the dinner at the mess itself. and they had their food and i got to admit again the food was really Delicious. we got to eat hot chapati with palak panner and daal tadka and some special rice.
by the time we finished our dinner, the clock ticked 9.30 and it was getting late. and for the last time my dad dropped me at the hostel gate my heart was heavier than ever. had to say goodbye... and i did say it with a moist voice and eyes.. but mother was all in tears and dad hugged tight. the watchmen at the gate consoled us and said not to worry. after a lot of heart to heart talk they left and I saw their car fade away in the distance.
this is my very first article that I have written on line. i would receive suggestions with an open heart.
in my next post I'll write about my roomie and college.
