so much more..

I am not much of a gardening pro, mom and dad were the ones who were really interested, of all the places we had mom did an awesome job of planting so many trees, she spent the evenings in the garden and nurtured the gooseberry trees, coconut trees, pomegranate trees, chikku trees, and many more, we had a helper called noor who used to help us in the garden and take care of our dog. so it was really beautiful to see it. we were really able to maintain the lawn and flower bed properly. after some years mom became very busy indoors and only came to water the plants, our helper died of old age and to me our beautiful garden started to look like jungle, there were these huge badam trees that spread branches across the garden soaking all the sunlight and shading the pots underneath, the weeds grew the flowers died, so it was only shades of green...and while sipping tea in the sit out i had that sudden urge of trying things out in garden. And while i traveled different cities i became obsessed  with bougainvillea flowers specially the white ones that looked like giant bunches of white roses.. after spending few of my summer days at my Gran's place i was determined to set our garden straight. and after coming back to my place, I kept an eye out for plants. during my morning walk i finally found my favourite plant bougainvillea and brought little cuttings, i put them in a little earthen pot and watered them daily...but they disappointed me..not even a little leaf shot up to tell me Hey!! this twig is alive..don't you give up hope.. i waited months...but no..they dried up..i was disappointed, but prepared to face them. once i went drop my friend to her place and i saw another bougainvillea tree!(at a corner, not on any-body's property) i went straight up and tried to cut the thickest branch, i was little struggling, but to my surprise a passerby came to help me with it. I happily said thank you and he smiled and good luck with your gardening. i came home and put them in a water and rolled up my  sleeves to get the pots ready, i filled the pot with sand, gravel, and mud, and planted the cuttings. and put in the sunny-est spot of the garden.after a few weeks finally a tiny little leaf shot up and weeks by weeks a beautiful bougainvillea rose up.. the very first time it flowered...i felt like my life was complete..i took so many pictures of them.. seeing my interest dad brought me vegetable seeds like brinjal and tomato..to be honest they dint come up well.. but they dint dampen my spirits. everywhere i wen,t i bought  little cuttings and put them in a pot.. And after helping mom in the kitchen i realized that i could prepare compost.. my first compost experience was sooo funny. coz i had no idea that it would smell so bad.. but the roses were really pretty and healthy. and then slowly i spent more time on plants and still trying to figure out ways to manure them. but the lust for flowers never ends.. where ever you go.. you always got an eye for them.. and day by day i just want to get better at it.  💮🥀❁⚘
