Lucky day

Couple of days ago I sat there in my class, it was a regular day, regular classes, not much, nothing special. our third class was Business Communication period. Our teacher had planned us something surprising that day. She came to class and for a change from the the routine she gave us some incomplete sentences and told us to fill the blanks to create a story. She suggested to use their respective partners details. I was sitting with Priya that day as my other friend Shruti,with whom I share my bench all the time was absent. As my teacher displayed the sentences, initially i could not think of anything. I took some time and asked my friend all that I needed to frame a story. At the end I was surprised how simple and beautiful it turned out to be.
Here's that little story;
    On a early summer morning, I was boarding a bus to Hubli. During my 2 hour journey a girl came and sat next to me. As there was still a long way to go and also I was alone,  I decided to have a little chat with her. So I asked what was her name, she said it was Priya.  She asked my name I told I was Soumya. As we further got acquainted I asked what was very strange about her, to which she told me she often fights with her mom. and I asked her what she had been doing in recent years she told that she had taken coaching for IBPS exam but couldn't get through because of bad teaching. I also got to know that she is a big fan of cricket and she had recently watched M.S.Dhoni movie. She also told me that she had been to Bangalore and Amboli. As the time ticked by my stop approached. I got up from my seat and said nice meeting you Priya and then got down from the bus. As the mid-day sun shone brightly I felt happy on having been made a friend.

I submitted my story to my teacher she read everybody's story and shortlisted some And checked again and guess what?!! she read my story aloud to the class and said it was a surprise contest and she declared us the winner and gave us chocolates as our prize🍫🍫 there were no words to say how happy I felt. Being appreciated for my writing skills is what brings me pure happiness. To me it was really a lucky day.😇😊

the beginning

Just three months ago, I was so excited, happy ,anxious and felt lot many emotions at the same time. To me it was a start of something very new. you might be wondering what i am saying. well here's the little story.

As my PGCET exams ended giving me a admission in a good college, not very far from my home town. it was a Sunday evening when i came to college with my parents along with some luggage in the boot of my car. it was rather saddening and a very silent trip from my home to college. what bitterly tore me up was to imagine that i would not come back and stay at my home like i did in my childhood, you know day after day sometimes in the garden and sometime in the attic. because after college i would probably go to a far off town to work and then come to home only for holidays. and parting from my dear pet dog also did not feel good.

it is just a 2hr journey from my home town to college. as we entered the gates the first thing we did was to try meet my new warden geeta. As it was tea time she was not at the hostel office, the watchmen at the gate suggested us have tea in our mess and by the time we would come he assured us she would also have come come back. so we went to our mess and i was dumbstruck how clean and neat they had maintained it.  I still remember those shining black marbles and a very tasty Pav bhaji and tea. while coming back dad asked if i had got my mosquito net and guess what? i hadn't brought it. so my dad dropped us at our hostel premises and went out to get me a new curtain. my warden had already returned from the mess and my mom asked everything that made her sure that i would be fine here. and when the warden asked me to give my fee receipt for my hostel admission that moment i realised that it was with my dad :p you should have seen the look on my mother's face. so we had to wait for a while for my dad to return. Finally i produced my fee receipt again guess what?? my room was on the forth floor the last floor on my hostel. and it was rather a tedious walk to carry my luggage from the car to the room. as dad was not allowed inside my dear mother helped me a lot to carry everything and she even helped me to arrange everything in my room. it was already half past eight in the night. so i suggested my parents to have the dinner at the mess itself. and they had their food and i got to admit again the food was really Delicious. we got to eat hot chapati with palak panner and daal tadka and some special rice.

by the time we finished our dinner,the clock ticked 9.30 and it was getting late. and for the last time my dad dropped me at the hostel gate my heart was heavier than ever. had to say goodbye... and i did say it with a moist voice and eyes.. but mother was all in tears and dad hugged tight. the watchmen at the gate consoled us and said not to worry. after a lot of heart to heart talk they left and I saw their car fade away in the distance.

this is my very first article that I have written on line. i would receive suggestions with an open heart.
in my next post I'll write about my roomie and college.

Well, aint that true?
